Literature Text

I smoke
and sometimes snort cocaine.

Can you guess my name?

I sleep with strangers
and go to work the next morning
as though nothing's changed.

Still no clue?

I love sleep,
and hate daylight -
a night owl by habit,
and design.

I run faster than I should,
and slower than I want to,
just to see how fast I can really go.

Keep guessing.

I idolize material items,
and love with my entire being.
I smile when I need to,
laugh when I hate it,
and cry when no one's looking.

Still can't guess?

I'd give you a hint,
but it wouldn't help because -
let's be honest -
I'm only human.

I liek this! The rhyme scheme is fun and seems to twist around...I haven't actually tryied to "plot" it, but it seems like the poem did not conform to the scheme, but rather the scheme conformed to the poem--great job!
